Sasa Harambee partners with communities, organizations and individuals to help them identify strategies to help them achieve their full potential. Needs are identified by our partners; together we look for solutions our partners can implement. Our long term objective is for our partner organizations and communities to develop the required skills and infrastructure to operate independently, without Sasa Harambee’s involvement.

MISSION

Support Kenya-based partners by:

  • Fundraising and technical support.  Provide access to sources outside the communities to get projects started and established.  Financial oversight will be provided as required by our funders, typically through Memorandums of Understanding (MOU).

  • Capacity building (including training, technical support, access to capital) at the local stakeholder level

  • Working with Kenya-based start-up organizations so they can become self-sustaining

  • Working with Individuals to develop leadership skills, goal setting, marketable skills and a vision of their personal future.

  • Helping partner communities and organizations tackle larger problems, that require skills and resources not currently available to them   This work is driven by the partners, who identify the needs   We assist them in accessing funding and technical expertise outside the community while helping them develop the capabilities within to tackle future problems

  • Bringing related organizations together so they can learn from and assist each other

  • Work with government entities to understand needs and access government resources

All work is undertaken with the greatest respect for local cultural norms.  Work is currently limited to rural communities in Kenya but could be undertaken in other developing countries.
